Better
The afternoon improved greatly!!! Gus is fab with his reading but his writing is such a struggle. The ironic thing is that I wouldn't be putting this pressure on him if HE didn't want to go to school. I bet his writing will take off some time in the next six months... (maybe) But in the meantime I'm working on his vocabulary, his reading, his comprehension... all the stuff that will make writing so much easier for him. The mechanics don't seem as important as this other stuff. He gets SO mad and so down on himself that it is really sad (it also makes me extremely pissed off when he loses his temper on letter number three... ) I can't see him being ready to go to school, but maybe it would be better to let him. It could be so bad for him though, if he feels in any way behind or slow.... Crap! Why can't he just be happy at home. We started school at 8:30 a.m. and were done by 1:00 p.m.. Whats NOT to like??
